NKK Visits! And Getting Stuff Done.

Dear jumjum...

My cousin Nick koko came to HK for the first time! I met him for lunch and went around Mongkok on Friday,  had my last midterm on Saturday morning, then we headed to Disneyland.

I wasn't prepared for the magic that was Disney! It was our first time there and NKK and his friends were skipping to the Disney tunes upon arrival. They had some halloween specials so I was lucky to have NKK to cling on to for all the creepy stuff... Oh yes and I was very brave! Went on the rides with no hesitations, unlike last year at Universal Studios where Kah Sing and I had to be dragged to go...

We're entering fall so it was nice and cooling in the afternoon but friggin cold at night. I wore my first ever fall outfit (just a normal outfit with a scarf- which I learnt to tie pattern pattern from Pinterest while in line for a ride xD) I can't wait for V and Z to come so we'll go there and get crazy!

  Okay picture time.

Halloween sticker booklets!

Didn't take too many pictures as I was trying to save battery for any emergencies on the way back. Went back around midnight and took my first ever HK cab alone. V curious as to how the cabbie would rate my cantonese!

Went to church this morning, met up briefly with NKK again, then finally, finally got a haircut. My hair is pretty damaged bad I've got split ends. (I can cut my bangs myself but no way I'm cutting where i can't see!)

******
Okay all that was blogged on the bus otw back. This is going to be one long post!

I accomplished quite a lot yesterday.

  1. Haircut
  2. Our dorm is by the sea so every morning it takes all my willpower to drag myself out of my warm bed. So I finally bought some long jammies on bargain at a street stall! Previously only had shorts for housepants.
  3. Finally bought nail polish remover! Been walking around with chipped nail polish for weeks!
  4. Went all the way to Aeon 12 dollar-store to get me some organisers! My makeup shelf was one huge mess and it annoyed me every morning. So I got these four items for 48 dollars! Happy-nya!!

Left my humanities video to the last minute! Stayed up until 3am to finish it up!!! And this is how many videos I took  for a three minute video. And V says it looks more like a makeup tutorial.... =.=

Bad Day

Dear jumjum...

This morning on the way to church my phone restarted, which is pretty usual for me so I didn't bother. But it froze on the starting up page until after mass so I started getting worried...and nothing I tried would resolve the problem, so I decided to go to the Samsung service centre in Mongkok (nearest).

I knew it was in Langham Place, but I overlooked the sign at the MTR in my hurry and took the wrong exit. When I finally arrived there I looked for it on the directory to no avail. So I asked the woman at the info counter, who was most unhelpful. She seemed bored and all she told me was to go to the 10th floor- she didn't even tell me that Langham Place is a hotel, shopping mall and an office tower all connected. Of course, I got lost (it was in the office tower). Tried to ask some shop assistants who didn't even bother to answer me. When I finally got there, the woman told me that the warranty is only valid in Malaysia so I'll have to pay 350hkd just to have it checked, and it might take up to two days. So I decided against it and went out to try and find a phone repair shop.....but I couldn't find any. At this point I was almost crying because:

1. I always rant to my family and friends in situations like this, but I couldn't contact anyone and felt so alone.
2. I didn't even know what the heck the time was.
3. How much time I spent was crucial because my midterms start this week and I have so much to cover.
4. I rely heavily on Google maps to get around and that was impossible now.
5. Had a 6-hour dance practice yesterday and I'm not exactly fit, so my butt and thighs were getting sore-r with every step I took.

So I was like, nope, you're not allowed to cry! and got some burger (I judged it to be dinner time). Honestly it was so good and comforting it made me feel much better. Then I decided to just go back to the Samsung centre. Another guy attended me and he told me that since I bought my phone overseas, they will have to change the motherboard no matter the problem, and it'll cost 2000hkd, plus the 350 labour cost. He was the first helpful person I met all day- he advised me to just go to an unofficial repair shop and even wrote down the name of the electronics mall for me.

I found the mall and this dude said it was a hardware problem and that he'll have to change some part for me, for 700hkd, which I negotiated with him but I only managed to get it down to 650. I had to wait almost 3 hours for it so I walked around Mongkok. Here's the deal: a. Mongkok is a tourist-y shopping district with lots to look at. b. I am on a tight budget cause I was over-budget last month due to all the start up costs. c. I just spent 650hkd for the stupid phone. Well I survived...but I think I'll be eating grass this month =(

I got back so late =( oh yes all my phone memory is lost! Thank God I just transferred my photos to my computer. My bus seat was so smelly and now I have a big headache. So bye.

I Dids Its!

Dear jumjum...

Feeling pretty stressed out lately, but midterms are coming and I know for a fact now that many other people are feeling it too, so....

Anyway, our school is having a blood donation drive now. I've always wanted to donate blood cause I think it's so cool that you give a part of yourself to save another. Was planning to do it after A Levels but it never worked out so I made sure I went this time!

I should mention that I have zero pain tolerance, and the thought of a needle entering the skin and into a blood vessel makes me cringe. A few years ago, my dad took a video of his own blood test and made me watch it "to show me that it's nothing" but I suspect he just wanted to freak me out! The last (and only) time I went for a blood test, I was squeezing V's hand and tearing up. But I was a brave girl today! Went alone, although I wished V or Suki was there for me to squeeze. I had to psych myself up though, by telling myself it'll be the same as pricking my fingers doing needle felting (which I just realised I have never blogged about)

It wasn't that bad! I wasn't looking when she pricked me, though. Had a numb-ish feeling too but that was it. I felt fine after so I didn't wait for a full 15 minutes to rest because I had to rush to class and was right as rain throughout the day, but right now I'm starting to feel light headed so I think I'm gonna hit the sack. Probably wasn't a good idea to donate a day before our fitness test...
